When you set up a computer on our network for the very first time you need to register it.
You will need to know
- Your computer's name
- Find your computer's name in XP.
- Find your computer's name in Mac OS X.
- Your computer's Adaptor (MAC) Address. Find your MAC address in XP or OS X.
- Your Case Network ID
- If you are Staff or Faculty, you will also need to know your University Department.
Your Registered Hostname must match the computer name set on your computer.
To register a game console like Xbox 360 or PS3 all you need is the MAC address. You can find out how to find your console's MAC address using one of these links.
