Registering a Computer
When you set up a computer on our network for the very first time you need to register it.
You will need to know
  1. Your computer's name
    1. Find your computer's name in XP.
    2. Find your computer's name in Mac OS X.
  2. Your computer's Adaptor (MAC) Address. Find your MAC address in XP or OS X.
  3. Your Case Network ID
  4. If you are Staff or Faculty, you will also need to know your University Department.
Your Registered Hostname must match the computer name set on your computer.

To register a game console like Xbox 360 or PS3 all you need is the MAC address. You can find out how to find your console's MAC address using one of these links.

Please use the self-registration page to register your network device.

If you need to register a:
  • wireless network card
  • printer's network card
  • network card in a device without the ability to browse the web

please call us at:

Note: Lab and office computers cannot be registered by students; they must be registered by faculty or staff.
