Why have I been quarantined and how do I fix it?
The quarantine network is a specially created network which acts as a buffer isolating computers that have been identified as a threat from the rest of the Case network. If your computer has been put on the quarantine network, your computer is likely infected with a virus or some other malicious program. In order to keep this threat from spreading throughout the network and infecting many other computers, the infected computer is sent to a separate network.
Your computer is, however, still on a network and has limited access to the web and sites like help.case.edu to allow you to access the tools needed to remove viruses or other threats.
The quarantine network only affects wired connections so if you are on wireless you will still have full connectivity. If you find you are unable to download software or connect to a website needed to clean your system, you will need to use the wireless network, or bring your computer into a walk in center.
So your system has been quarantined. What do you have to do to get un-quarantined?

Step #2
Next you will need to update your anti-virus software. If you don't have any antivirus software you will need to go to the software center and download and install Symantec Endpoint Protection 11. A new installation will need to be updated immediately as the virus definitions it uses to check your system could be many months out of date.

Step #3
Once you have finished updating your antivirus program, it is recommended that you update your operating system. If you own a Mac go to the
apple menu, click system preferences, software update, and then "check now"
If you use Windows go to update.microsoft.com and click express. Follow any other instructions it gives you and reboot when finished.
