Setting up VPN for Windows
|
VPN is available for Windows, Macs, and computers running Linux and Solaris.
This solution for all users includes the following steps:
- Downloading the VPN client.
- Installing the VPN client.
- Connecting to the Case network using VPN.
Note: If you need a VPN client for a 64 bit Windows installation, please call the help desk at 368-HELP.

Step #1

- Open an Internet browser and go to https://vpnsetup.case.edu/vpn3000.html.
- Download the VPN client appropriate to your operating system.
Vista users: Make note of any special instructions on the VPN client page.

Step #2

- Double click on the downloaded file. The setup wizard will run automatically.
- If you receive any warnings from Windows, simply answer yes to allow the changes.
- Click through the wizard accepting all the default settings.
Click Finish at the end of the install.

Step #3

Click Start and then point to All Programs. Point to Cisco Systems VPN Client. Click VPN Client.

To connect, click Connect.
- Type your Case ID and password in the dialog box and click OK.
- When the security warning opens, click Continue. Note: Any current network connection will be disrupted at this point, and will resume when the VPN connection is established.
- When VPN client is connected, a gold lock icon will show up in the taskbar, located in the lower right corner of the screen.
